Behind the blog: our first post!

Hello, welcome to the launch of our blog, double the chai!! We’re Shikha and Shruti and, you guessed it, we’re twins!! Wahoo. Here's a quick little spiel from us.

I’m Shikha Patel and I was assigned to be called Baby A at birth as a way for the doctors and my parents to differentiate my twin and I, sad haha. Although I was born first, I had always been known as the “slower” twin because Shruti was the one who learned to

walk, talk and yes, climb the tiny hill in our backyard first. But despite all of this, Shruti and I were inseparable. We had every class together, we were bus partners and even crib buddies, unfortunately we shared one crib (I know it's dangerous). With that being said having a twin can be annoying especially when people call you the wrong name on a daily basis haha, but these memories are what make Shruti and I so close. So, I’m very excited to start this new chapter of sharing our lives and I’m very happy to be sharing it with my best friend, my silly twin and a want to be comedian. :)

With letter A gone to my crazy sister, of course I was handed letter B. Not only that, at birth, to differentiate my sister and I, we were clothed in different colors. Of course being a female, you’d expect to wear pink (yes, my brown parents didn’t practice gender neutrality), however with pink clothes on my sister, I was clothed in blue. So life started off amazing for me, I was baby B and was dressed as a boy. However, I still loved life. I grew up with two sisters, Baby A and Babu (aka Juhi). We all grew up in Boise, Idaho and later moved to Texas. Raised close in age, we grew up very close and tight knit which allowed for funny and memorable experiences.

We want to use this blog as a way to share some of our experiences together and as a way to express our creativity and ideas and perhaps give tips and advice. We are excited to share the varying aspects of our lives with you guys and hopefully we can make you guys chuckle and put a smile on your face :)
